Description: In the Young Music Producers class, students will engineer their own beats, chords, melodies, and remixes. Aspiring pop stars will create their own solo recordings. Description: Build and program your robots to play soccer and take part in a soccer tournament! Program a car to reach its destination! Build and test a whatchamacallit machine by using simple machines to solve a problem. Students explore machines, robots and mechanisms by investigating gearing mechanisms and build motorized machines and robots. They investigate friction, forces, distance and much more. Some motorized machines use computer to control Lego® model behavior using various drag and drop programming functions.

Description: In this six week class, children will take action to help others, and will learn about the importance of compassion and giving. They will complete projects such as preparing food for homeless shelters and writing letters to orphans while gaining life lessons and leadership skills along the way.

Description: Is a video game really just a video game? Or can it be used as an engaging STEM tool? This class uses the extremely popular game of Minecraft to teach students various STEM skills such as engineering, architecture, and logical thinking. Have you ever thought of building an elevator, a security system or even a Ferris Wheel? Students will focus on using “redstone contraptions” to build circuits that will allow objects to rotate and move in Minecraft. This class is designed to show a deeper level of understanding of programming, practical architectural design and real life constructing process.

Description: Would you like to play some music using bananas as a keyboard? How about making animals using conductive dough and seeing their eyes light up? Students investigate and study components such as connectors, resistors, capacitors, sensors, switches, integrated circuits and motors using conductive dough and easy to assemble Snapcircuits®. Using these building blocks of electronics, students build various projects such as alarms, flying saucers, an AM radio, light sensitive devices and many more.

Description: Offered by Kids in Motion, Run Club is for boys and girls in grades K-6 who come out to run for fun and fitness! Kids run in groups with their peers. They learn the fundamentals of walking, power walking, jogging, running and sprinting so they can learn to pace themselves and run further each week. They track their distance with popsicle sticks and work toward new goals each class. Kids warm up at the beginning of class and stretch at the end. Parents are invited to the last class of the session to run 2 miles with their child. The goal each class is to run farther so by the last class of the session they are able to run 2 miles, or their personal best.

Description: This is one of our most popular classes! Kids learn about painting on canvas paper, canvas board and stretched canvas, using acrylics. They are inspired as they learn the techniques, style and vocabulary of such artists as Renoir, Mondrian, Laurel Burch, Jackson Pollock, Modigliani, Warhol, Sam Francis and Frank Stella.

In the Little Music Makers class, kids will use powerful music technology to compose and produce their own music - no prior musical training needed!  Young music producers will be excited to create their own beats, melodies, chords, and samples using all of the music studio equipment (e.g. keyboards, beat machines, and IPads).  Young sound designers will learn how to shape audio into completely new sounds.  Aspiring pop stars will put on a pair of headphones, step up to the mic, and record their own vocal solos.  After the class, each student will receive a CD containing their own portfolio of beats, sounds, and vocal recordings.  Macbook Pro laptops, keyboard controllers, and iPads are provided.

Website Design is a course that teaches the art and design side of web development. By teaching students about user experience, use of type and color, art placement and usage, text and graphics effects, interface design and utilizing negative space, they will learn to think about aesthetics differently when creating websites. At the end of the class the students will each have a beautiful and impressive website of their own.

Learn how to paint pottery using some fun techniques and unusual tools. Techniques include: masking, expandable sponges, sgraffito, faux mosaic, stenciling, rubber stamping. This course introduces students to a variety of methods for decorating ceramics. Each project will allow the student to try a different style of painting. This course is good for all ages.

Curtain Call™ is a SCRIPTED class designed for the reading student and challenges the imagination. Students learn character development through the text, the mechanics of blocking, projecting and all aspects of behaving realistically before a live audience. A script is provided and the students memorize their lines, memorize their blocking, and work together as a cast. Curtain Call™ provides opportunities for individuals who, not wishing to be on stage, would like to help in production, direction, or design of a performance. Partial costumes are provided for the final performance, taking place on the last day of class. The performance is for parents, relatives and friends of the students in Curtain Call™.

We will create our own designs and make structures using Legos, recyclable materials and many other interesting items such as Lifesavers, paper bags and marshmallows. Skills necessary… none! Not all AAA title games need to have flashy graphics, 3D animation, and advanced game play. Some of the most popular games on the app store and on the market today were made as simple flash, 2d, or even text based games.  Students will be taught a set of tools inside the scratch universe to help them create a fun, interactive game that they can show off to their friends and family! Have fun creating and designing games by learning basic to intermediate programming that uses drag and drop coding blocks and helps students to learn programming concepts.

Using simple to advanced programming on EV3 robots, students build, program, and test their solutions based on real-life robotics technology. To accomplish these tasks they design, build, test and iteratively evaluate; continuously enhancing their skills while attempting to solve interesting problems or improving robot performance. Students also develop team work and problem solving skills as they brainstorm through creative solutions. Students with no programming experience will learn to build and program the program to navigate through the maze. Experienced students will learn EV3 robot programming and students who are new to programming will learn on NXT Lego® Mindstorms®. Have fun programming your robot to take part in a sumo robot challenge!

Children will investigate physics fundamentals and bring their scientific minds to basic magic tricks. Your Mad Scientists will be shocked by what they learn about electricity, blown away by their experiments with air pressure,and swept away by the excitement of working with waves!

Creative Drama™ is just as exciting and available to children who also love to imagine, pretend and dress in a variety of costumes. Each week, our instructor tells a different story for the students to practice and expand necessary theatrical skills. Costumes are provided for the number of students in each class. Students learn characterization, facial and vocal expression and basic stage direction. The last class will conclude with a demonstration for parents.

Get out your magnifying glasses and detective hats as we have clues to decipher and crimes to solve. We’ll put our critical thinking skills and STEM knowledge to the test and get to the bottom of mysteries by learning the tricks real investigators use to solve cases. While experimenting with simple detection techniques, your reasoning skills will grow and your problem solving skills will become better than CSI agents.

This hands on class discusses the elements involved in making a film including the script, the camera, wardrobe and props, etc. We’ll employ some improvisation skills, and talk about what we like to see when we watch a movie, and see one feature other students have created in the past.  At the end of the first day, each student is assigned a one minute pitch assignment that they have a week to create. The beginning of week two, each student pitches their film idea and we work together to create the story. The instructor takes the second week to best incorporate as many student contributions as possible, writing a script that students produce, film and perform in themselves.  In the weeks that follow all students will participate in the creation of their own film! Everyone takes turns acting, directing, using the camera, and helping with production elements.

Kid cooks, bakers and chefs have joined the ranks of elimination style cooking contests and here at Tiny Chefs we are getting in on the action! In this exciting session, classes will be separated into rotating teams and each team will create recipes that are judged by the instructors in a blind taste test.  Sometimes the teams will create the same item, and compete head to head, other times they will create different recipes within a theme such as Snack Attack or Sweet and Savory Pies. May the best team win!

Students learn and develop drawing skills and art appreciation through our progressive, open-ended approach to drawing. We use stepwise instruction to inspire students' independent drawings, including seasonal, realistic and abstract images. Our curriculum is varied and challenging, with new, engaging drawing lessons every week, and every session. Create Minecraft paper characters and bring them to life! Learn to create your very own Minecraft movie! Students learn basics of stop motion using a camera, learn editing and narration. They enjoy creating mobs, blocks, creeper and much more with Minecraft paper craft that they use as props for their movie besides other objects.  Students are welcome to bring in additional Minecraft props. The movies are uploaded to YouTube to share with family and friends.

Is everyone always asking you where you got your unique jewelry? What about those one of a kind craft creations that catch people’s eyes? Girls will use their creativity and imagination to take an idea and make it a reality! Girls will be able to choose a product category on the first day. Product categories include making scrubs, jewelry making, designing picture frames and sports themed creations. They will write their own mini business plan, create a logo, design and bring their product to market in their own “pop up store”! Topic discussions will include product development, budgeting, marketing, and sales techniques!  On the last day of the class, girls will launch their business! Family and friends can visit their store and "buy" their final product!

This exciting one-of-a kind class takes the great music and dance moves from our Zumba, Hip Hop, and other dance fitness classes, but we switch it up to include glow lights! This class will be set in a creative dance environment where the students will spend the class learning different dances to kid friendly songs and dance moves. Children are provided with mini finger flashlights and the teacher uses strobe lights to create a strobe light dance party! Children do get a work out from this class.

Students explore the process of developing 3D creations using the design cycle of brainstorming, prototyping and evaluating. This course gives students design frameworks to turn their ideas into 3D models for a 3D printer. Students will learn about and observe how 3D Printing works, and will take home their own 3D models they created digitally in class.

Is a video game really just a video game? Or can it be used as an engaging STEM tool? In this class students will be learning programming while playing minecraft! Without syntax, students will be introduced to basic problem solving and algorithm structure to accomplish in game tasks, all while learning how to enhance their game play.  Command blocks are very useful tools inside minecraft that allow the player to create anything from simple custom mob generator to complex games.

Enter the Adventure Zone! Do you dare write a program that wakes a sleeping giant? Build and program a plane to rescue people! Design and test patrol car! Students explore machines, robots and mechanisms by investigating gearing mechanisms and build motorized machines and robots.
